11/18 Athletics Update

11/18 Athletics Update
Posted on 11/18/2020
On November 18th the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) released new mandates for school organized sporting events, following the Governor’s announcement of increased COVID-19 restrictions. The new OSAA updates give guidance and add requirements for outdoor sports, and prohibit indoor sporting events or practices.

In response to these new requirements, the Estacada School District has made the following changes:
  • Estacada High School’s volleyball season came to a conclusion on 11/17/2020
  • Outdoor athletics will continue as scheduled
  • Estacada School District athletic leadership staff are creating immediate plans to ensure that winter sports can transition to outdoor competition and practices

The district recognizes the positive impact athletics have on our students’ overall wellbeing and level of engagement, and will continue to put effort forth to accommodate these positive participation events. Our staff is working diligently to ensure that winter sports can continue, through their work in making the safety adjustments necessary to safeguard student and staff health and ensure alignment with the new guidelines. The Estacada School District will continue to remain at the forefront of offering academic and extracurricular opportunities to meet the unique needs of all students while accommodating local mandates and best practices.

We would like to thank all of our student-athletes and families for their perseverance and continued partnership as we make adjustments.
